We are proud to share a major milestone in the digital transformation of Indonesia’s agricultural sector — a successful implementation of Smart Farming powered by Private 5G in Trimomukti Village, Lampung Selatan. This initiative represents a breakthrough in agri-digitalization and a testament to what can be achieved through public-private collaboration.
In December 2025, the Smart Farming pilot demonstrated how advanced connectivity and precision technology can reshape traditional agriculture. Partners including the Lampung Selatan Government, the Ministry of Agriculture, and Universitas Bandar Lampung came together to equip local farmers with tools that unlock real-time insights into their fields, delivered via 5G-enabled drones and sensors.
At Apeiroon, we are honored to have contributed our end-to-end Private 5G network system-5G CPE, 5G NR Radio, a Private 5G Core and 5G SA Portable Backpacks — a scalable, ultra-low-latency solution that connects field sensors, drones, and mobile devices across the farming landscape with exceptional reliability. The results speak for themselves:
- Real-time data delivery: Drones equipped with 5G CPE stream live video, spraying and sending agronomic data directly to farmers’ devices — enabling faster decision-making, precise monitoring of crop and land conditions, and enhanced operational efficiency.
- Precision agriculture support: Connectivity across devices and systems like the water pumps , soil sensors, water level sensors allows for remote oversight of irrigation, soil conditions, and environmental variables at these paddy fields — the core of smart farming technologies.
- Technology adoption for impact: By supporting local capacity building (including drone piloting and digital farm management), the project has put critical tools in the hands of farmers while helping elevate productivity and competitiveness.
Smart Farming is not just innovation for its own sake — it is a strategic enabler for food security, productivity, and economic growth in Indonesia’s agrarian economy. By embracing technologies like IoT, drone analytics, and advanced connectivity, Indonesia is positioning its agricultural sector to be more efficient, sustainable, and globally competitive.
We believe this initiative illustrates how technology can empower local communities, strengthen supply chains, and contribute meaningfully to the national economy — and we are committed to scaling these solutions further across regions and agricultural value chains.
Thank you to all partners, farmers, and stakeholders who helped make this vision a reality. We look forward to accelerating Indonesia’s smart agriculture journey together.
